Jan Henk Kamps graduated from the Hanzehogeschool Groningen (the Netherlands) in 1998, where he studied organic and analytical chemistry and completed his graduation project at DSM Research (Geleen, the Netherlands) focusing on supramolecular chemistry. After his graduation Jan Henk started his professional career in the Technology Department of SABIC (previously GE Plastics, Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands), where he was a key-contributor on projects related to polymerization process optimization and developments of various new (co-) polymers. He is currently holding a Staff Scientist position in the Emerging Technology & Acquisitions team and is recognized as inventor on over 35 granted patents.
Jan Henk received his exemption for educational requirement from the TU/e Examination Committee in February 2015. Parallel to his responsibilities at SABIC, he is working on his PhD project within the group of Professor Dr. Rint Sijbesma. His PhD-topic focuses on Functional Polycarbonates, exploiting the reactivity benefits of polymerizations using activated monomers.
