In 2016, I received my B.Sc. degree in Chemistry in the University of Zaragoza, Spain. One year later, on September 2017 I also obtained there my master’s degree in Nanostructured materials for Nanotechnological Applications. During my Master program I worked in my Master Project for half a year in the group of Liquid Crystals and Polymers, lead by Jose Luis Serrano in the Department of Organic Chemistry. The thesis, “Nanostructured soft materials for organic electronics based on columnar liquid crystals”, consisted on the synthesis and characterization of organic covalent molecules and the study of their optical, electronic and liquid crystal properties and their capability to form nano-agregates by self-assembly via hydrogen bonding. Two months later in November 2017, I started my PhD in the group on Rint Sijbesma in the Technological University of Eindhoven. I still focus my research interests on liquid crystals but now I am looking for new well defined structures that can be applied in the field of membranes. Nanoporous materials based on liquid crystalline polymers for water filtration is the main objective for the project.
