Diederik van Luijk

I have received both my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees at the Eindhoven University of Technology in 2015 and 2018, respectively. Within my research I have often attempted to combine organic and inorganic chemistry to achieve results that these disciplines would struggle to achieve separately. My Bachelor thesis was completed in the group of prof. Dr. Ir. Emiel J.M. Hensen (Inorganic Materials Chemistry) on the hydrothermal synthesis of iron sulfide films using amino acids as the sulfur source, and my master thesis was performed under the supervision of prof. Dr. E.W. (Bert) Meijer investigating the Jacobsen epoxidation reaction in aqueous single-chain polymeric nanoparticles. Since October 2018 I have been working on my PhD project focussed on mechanoluminescent and mechanocatalytic polymers and reaction networks, including advances towards aqueous and/or catalytically luminescent systems.
