Khalid Naim

I completed my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Chemistry from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India, in 2014 and 2016, respectively. Following that, I pursued my PhD under the guidance of Prof. Prakash P. Neelakandan at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology, Mohali. My Ph.D. work focussed on studying the mechanical and luminescence properties of the single crystals of a few boron-containing organic molecules. After finishing my PhD, I worked as a postdoctoral fellow for six months on multi-stimuli responsive organic fluorescence materials. I have been a Marie Skodowska-Curie EuroTech postdoctoral fellow at TU/e since October 2022, working with Prof. Rint Sijbesma and Prof. Charles Diesendruck at Technion Israel Institute of Technology. My current research project focuses on the design and synthesis of mechanophores based on cyclohexane conformational switches that adjust their optical, mechanical or photosensitization properties when conformations are manipulated by mechanical force as a stimulus.
